The issue here isn't "single button”. It's behavior where click *duration* is a UX metaphor. That's something classic macOS *never* used. The whole *point* of the single button mouse is that there’s only one way to interact with a button - you *press* it. Anything else is undiscoverable.

Unfortunately, even macOS designers appear to have forgotten this now.
