There are 75,000 public school teachers in NYC. You can see the pay-scale here:

It tops out at 150k But those are people with decades of experience. The average is half that at 75k meaning half make less about half make more than that.

UPDATE: all the people at this levels are admin so it doesn't count. I was so excited that someone hacked the payscale so good :(
