Clasped in silence, the angel holds fast, where memory kneels and light endures.

Eudunda Cemetery, Eudunda, South Australia

Situated on Peep Hill Road, just outside the township of Eudunda in South Australia's Mid North, the cemetery serves as the principal public burial ground for the region.

While exact founding dates are elusive, the cemetery has been in use since at least the late 19th century. Early burials reflect the settlement patterns of German and English immigrants who established Eudunda as a farming and service hub.

Unlike Emmaus, which is Lutheran-affiliated, Eudunda Cemetery is non-denominational and includes graves from various faiths and civic backgrounds.

Outdoor photograph of a white angel statue holding a cross, set against a backdrop of trees and dry grass.

The angel stands serenely on a pedestal with steps, wings outstretched and hands gently clasped around the cross.

The background is softly blurred, drawing focus to the statue’s peaceful expression and symbolic pose.

Text in the bottom corners reads “Gardens Of The Silent” and “© Kev Peirce,” marking the image as part of a reflective cemetery photography series.
