Girlguiding has announced that they will no longer be accepting trans girls and non-binary kids who were not AFAB. They have written a lot of nice-sounding words that amount to "we don't want to do this, but our hands are tied." To which I say: bullshit. As a lifelong Girl Scout and a current troop leader, I am extremely disappointed in our sisters in the UK.
As Girl Scouts and Girl Guides, we should be blazing our own trails and always, *always* advocating for girls. That includes all girls and anyone else who identifies with the girl experience. We should not be capitulating to bullies. We especially should be not obeying in advance.
