An underrated unique trait of my generation in Germany is that English names had already taken a hold in the product landscape, but speaking proper English wasn't very common.
Through my whole childhood I was constantly bombarded with ads of wrongly pronounced English product names. With some things it took decades until I realized that it was actually an English name and not a made-up word.

Miraakel Wipp. Akkupatz. Pizza Hut (as in hat). Starfrucht (Star as in the bird). Raider.
