We also had packaged custard taiyaki that were nice considering that they weren't freshly prepared (which I've never had).
My friend is lavish in her snack game. When it came time to leave, she had dumped a bunch of sweets into my bag, which I had with me to bring her some noodles she hadn't tried.
It's nice to swap little things with friends. "I thought you'd like this" is always a nice bonding gesture. Cultures with *small* gift customs get this right IMO, it's an interesting mechanism for social bonding.
