When I was young, my dad was super into tabletop military simulator games (“Avalon Hill games” in the parlance of the time). He is a student of history and of systems and one of the things he impressed upon me based on these experiences was that the way you win these games — and the way you would win in the wars that they were based on — is to have superior supply lines, not superior force.
