1. you have had no issues *that you have yet noticed*. several firsthand accounts have convinced me that there's a delay between "start sprinkling a little slop into every PR" and "recognize the cumulative, catastrophic consequences of having done that" which might be as long as a year.

2. "it feels like the invention of the plow". it *feels* like this from a first-person perspective but it is not clear to me that the effect has an objective consequent; i.e. it *feels* like the invention of the plow but it is *actually* the invention of the variable-resistance exercise bike. You get on the bike and you dial down the resistance and you think "I'm going so much faster!" but you're spending the same amount of time to achieve fewer results
