so when I played baldur's gate 3 I had the immediate realization, "oh, this game is thematically about how knowledge of the inevitability of death is what makes us human". which I thought was a pretty lukewarm take and an obvious read of the themes. but I haven't seen any media critics engage much with analysis from this angle. is that because it's just too obvious to bother with? would anyone be interested in me writing about this? (or… attempting to make a video essay? 😬)
