I am resigned to be advocating for mypy despite its flaws for quite a long time, even if astral's new type checker is going to be faster, more comprehensive, and arguably more correct, because it is just never going to support plugins and allow for the sort of flexible application-level experimentation that allows for the development of new type-checkable idioms in python, even if being a rebel in this specific way does ironically make me
