My wife sends an email to every single student who is ever struggling in her classes. Every one. Most of them come in to talk to her. She gives them support while they're going through some of the worst and most devastating experiences anyone can have. She treats them with human dignity. Regularly students send her messages later that having her as a professor is something they will never forget. She wakes up early and works late for them.

And for this, she's being called "the enemy"

I remember when we were both struggling grad students, barely making enough money to be able to afford rent, being on the phone with her talking about what we would do with our lives, her telling me, "I just want to do something meaningful." She has worked, relentlessly, since her childhood, first to make it to the academic achievement that would lift her to the unimaginable place of being at a university and then to help others access these opportunities.
