You have to do so many things you do not want to do, and/or so many things you don't want are happening to you, that you can keep yourself locked in that mental cage past when the door opens I think. At least this is my experience

Anyway, baby mindfulness stuff, but asking myself "ok but what do you WANT" many times a day, recommend!

sidenote most pop advice about "motivation" and "changing habits" is so clearly written for people to whom nothing much has ever happened and WE, the club of Have Been Through Tough Shit, we need different advice altogether. This is my professional opinion.
