Well, know that "community-specific strengths" exist that are not designed for or captured in conventional measures, and cognitive assessments are not "context free." Social context influences how children engage with EF, and we should be very wary of explaining group differences in terms of cognition when the real explanation might be the instruments themselves.

I firmly believe that it's very dangerous for us in tech to take slippery, referential, stale models from half-remembered cognitive science 101 courses and make them the basis for hiring, evaluation, or theories of attention, focus and problem-solving in diverse populations.
