Whenever I explain to other (Russian) people what the fediverse is, they sometimes ask how resistant it is to being blocked by Roskomnadzor. The answer I usually go with is "very" because, in essence, every server acts as a proxy to the entire network. Bluesky in its current form has so many singular points of failure in comparison, it could as well be fully centralized.
