굴포천은 과거 공장폐수와 생활폐수로 인천의 대표적 오염 하천으로 꼽혔습니다. 현재는 큰기러기, 흰뺨검둥오리, 청둥오리 다양한 오리류와 물닭, 뿔논병아리가 서식할 정도로 철새들의 중요한 휴식처가 되고 있습니다.
