What’s the deal with the news that Western Digital has already sold out the year’s spinning disks? This hasn’t happened with previous more storage-oriented cloud expansions, so why is it happening during AI hype?

Is there some deliberate shortage creation going on this time? For some finance reason like making hardware, which normally goes down is proce soon to look more valuable as loan collateral or something?
