Ha! Man, that's wild. Because for some reason Linux decided to build its own (worse) subsystem 5 years after FreeBSD’s kqueue (release in the year of our Lord 2000!).

And to this day, lots of software that supports Linux but not officially FreeBSD (looking at you JetBrains and Sublime) only “work”with shims.

FreeBSD 15 fixes this with a native implementation 😂
