I always say that I'm not into #RetroComputing for nostalgia... so what am I in it for?

Diversity.

So many good platforms were steamrolled by Microsoft and the x86. It didn't have to be this way. The meteoric rise of a medicore OS to cover 98% of the field was unnatural, and we're only starting to recover some diversity in the era of the smartphone and Raspberry Pi.

I hope RISC-V can give ARM a run for its money and we can get some weird platforms back in play, but oh man.
