Alright, the protobuf parser is nearly complete! I haven't yet published it on npm (will have to do some extensive testing first!), but I've renamed it and added a readme:

The name is a bit silly ("protopiler”), but I'm terrible at picking names so I decided to stick with the first thing that came to mind.
