Here’s a condensed version of a letter I sent to the Star Tribune last week.

I know that the editorial staff was considering publishing it, because they contacted me about it. Ultimately, however, they opted not to.

In the last few days in the Twin Cities, ICE has abducted parents and left their kids just sitting there, alone, unassisted and unattended, in not one but _two_ separate incidents.

These scenes would have been unimaginable to me a year ago. I wish they had remained unimaginable. I wonder how Minnesota will respond now.

As I write this, the story that has top billing on the Star Tribune's web site is “it snowed again.”
