I was in the Mangas mountains and found a pottery midden. The fine shape of the pottery and the black on white and black on red glaze suggests later Puebloan, maybe produced at Antelope Mesa as some of the pieces seem to have been fired at high temperature. There was some pottery I didn't know. High fired black ware with a raw exterior and shiny, vitrified interior looking like hematite. They didn't photograph well but does anyone recognize them?

A collection of broken pieces of pottery on the sandy ground. Many are decorated with patterns in red, white and black.A small potsherd. Showing the interior surface with a black mirror like glaze.A larger black potsherd again showing the glazed interior surface. The reverse of the previous potsherd showing the back which has been darkened by firing.
