I've never tried pickled pears, sounds interesting!

Tender cactus has a texture like a steamed zucchini/courgette but it's slimy like okra. The flavor is mild but satisfying. It used to be a fairly common "vegetable" around here but not as many people eat cactus these days. I like it in tacos, with beans and rice and cactus is fantastic in scrambled eggs. πŸ˜‹
