Equinox gives an unbelievable Rhododendron Sunrise in the Appalachians. I spent 4 days on top of this mountain, shooting sunset and sunrise yet never really could get the composition I was looking for. So on the very last morning, I decided to get up at dawn and walk a half mile from my campsite without any specific scene in mind. Just before the sunrise, I found this patch of blooms and immediately knew it would give me the level of photo I was hoping for.

Sunlight streams through dramatic clouds over layers of distant blue mountains, illuminating a field of vibrant pink rhododendrons and lush green shrubs in the foreground.A vivid sunrise over a layered mountain range, casting warm pink and orange hues across the sky. In the foreground, blooming rhododendrons add splashes of purple and magenta amid dense green foliage.
