Anyway, I bought a bunch of server hardware that will live under my desk. I think there is a serious possibility that we'll cross a point in the next year where new laptops become more or less unavailable in the US. And if that happens, there's also a serious possibility it will last for years. Maybe forever. My entire family's finances hang on my ability to do professional computer touching. I want to be able to use old laptops as thin clients to a decent development machine, if I have to.
