In somewhat positive news, a couple of weeks ago my friend had been feeling really depressed and demotivated about work (as a software dev). They felt like nothing was worth doing, and dreaded working with claude to produce some output.

I don't remember exactly what I said, but it was apparently something to the effect of "you don't actually have to use claude". And I guess that was enough to get them realize they can just turn it off and write code themselves. Now they're enjoying work again!

So, I guess, consider this a gentle reminder that you can just not use the code bot.
