@cwebberChristine Lemmer-Webber i also really like this piece of writing on the topic, which touches on how one reason this topic is so important to trans people is *because* kurt never explicitly identified as trans. we as a community *know* that we’ve lost siblings who never had the chance to realize who they were, because so many of us can see how that was almost us. and assumptions of “cis until proven otherwise” erase that.

one, regardless of whether kurt was precisely a “trans woman”, the facts of his life basically place him under the trans umbrella somewhere. we can’t say how he’d identify if he were around now but we can describe the life he led as being genderqueer without any kind of speculation.
two, with everything we know about kurt, i imagine that even if he was cis that he would *love* all his trans fans pissing off bigots by calling him trans posthumously 😈
