Job Title Email and SMS Director Employee Type Permanent Fulltime Reports To Senior Digital Director Department Digital Entity NDWA Hours per Week 40 Salary 102861 105969 Work Location Remote Start Date Ideal state date March 30 2026 BACKGROUND The National Domestic Workers Alliance NDWA is the leading national voice for dignity respect and recognition for domestic workers in the United States NDWA was founded in 2007 by organizers and worker leaders in six cities representing nannies house cleaners and care workers and now represents an alliance of more than 76 organizations across 22 states and 395000 domestic workers nationally We envision a society where domestic work is valued as essential to our collective well being domestic workers are leaders in shaping the care sector and domestic work jobs are good economically secure jobs For over 15 years weve worked to advance our mission by making domestic work visible Weve worked to pass policies that enable rights and higher wages for domestic workers across the country changed public awareness and opinion about the dignity and value of care work and built the capacity and leadership of domestic workers to organize and advocate for their rights We see the next era of our organization as an opportunity to move domestic work from newfound visibility towards transformation and were ready to elevate care workers to the essential workers of the 21st century economy Were a multi racial multi lingual organization building a powerful movement rooted in the human rights dignity and equality of domestic workers care workers immigrant women and women of color POSITION SUMMARY You will lead and strengthen our owned channelsbroadcast email broadcast SMS and peer to peer P2P textingas core engines for organizing campaigning education and fundraising This role is both strategic and operational with the goal of keeping our digital programs nimble coordinated effective and always improving Most importantly youll work closely with the Senior Digital Director and Digital Strategy team to scale and supercharge the impact of the department PRIMARY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Own and maintain the Email and SMS calendars broadcast email broadcast SMS and P2P in collaboration with digital teammates Partner with the Data Digital and Tech teams to build maintain and iterate data pipelines reporting process and more to make performance visible and actionable Collaborate with the Senior Digital Director to build a sustainable operating rhythm for the digital team weekly planning; quality assurance; regular testing analysis and iteration; intake prioritization and project management Serve as the primary owner of deliverability for email and SMS list hygiene authentication reputation management suppression logic spam mitigation opt in optimization Translate data into insights iterations and ideas related to strategy theory of change content targeting topic area message framing user experience etc Support national and rapid response execution while protecting list health and avoiding channel fatigue Own and optimize the QA process for emails and texts before they go out the door with an eye toward excellent user experience and minimizing errors Update SOPs templates naming conventions and other processes to make execution more effective and nimble Ensure our Spanish language email and sms experience is excellent Help scope vendor needs and manage relationships to ensure NDWA gets strong service and outcomes Manage contractors vendors andor staff as needed Assist with other duties as needed Participate in staff meetings staff study and staff retreats Attend supervision meetings and complete work plans and reports in a timely manner QUALIFICATIONS 4 years experience leading email andor SMS programs in advocacy organizing electoral membership nonprofit or mission driven environments Demonstrated experience in deliverability not just writingsending authentication list management reputation management troubleshooting and remediation Strong analytics fluency ability to define KPIs streamline reporting interpret results and drive decisions from data Comfort partnering with dataengineering teams on pipelines integrations and tracking;
