Neat example of the web as a software platform.

1. Got new hardware device, which needs a firmware update.
2. Was told to plug it in and go to https://components.novationmusic.com.
3. Pressed a button.
4. All done!

No downloads, no installations, no logins. Works on any modern device. (Does require a Chromium-based browser though, so no go on iOS.)

Novation’s web firmware updater for the LaunchKey MK4, running in Chrome. “Update successful.”
