@mntmnminute @josch Now this is interesting. One of the challenges with running Guix as a main distro on the (Pocket) Reform is that the lack of Grub means that we can't "pick" our distro on boot. But maybe here's a way to do it! I wonder how hard it is to add menu entries?

@cwebberChristine Lemmer-Webber @mntmnminute It is very easy to add menu entries. What you need to generate is a bootspec file for guix and put it into /boot/loader/entries/. Spec is here https://uapi-group.org/specifications/specs/boot_loader_specification/ We have a shell script in reform-tools which generates such files for Debian and it's only 60 LOC, so it's quite easy. :)

UAPI.1 The Boot Loader Specification# Version Changes 1.0 Initial Release This document defines a set of file formats and naming conventions that allow the boot loader menu entries to be shared between multiple operating systems and boot loaders installed on one device. Operating systems cooperatively manage boot loader menu entry directories that contain drop-in files, making multi-boot scenarios easy to support. Boot menu entries are defined via two simple formats that can be understood by different boot loader implementations, operating systems, and userspace programs. The same scheme can be used to prepare OS media for cases where the firmware includes a boot loader.
