A problem with Firefox is there are certain mislabeled settings that are really secret "allow enshittification?" settings. Features like the ad-tracking spyware or the AI chatbot were enabled by default or not based on these settings. @mcc what sucks about this dynamic is that they only need to violate user consent once for every subsequent decision they do present the user becomes at the very least ambiguously suspect. trust is fragile and they blew through it with a large % of their users for no real benefit.
