A problem with Firefox is there are certain mislabeled settings that are really secret "allow enshittification?" settings. Features like the ad-tracking spyware or the AI chatbot were enabled by default or not based on these settings. @mcc as far as I can tell...if you have all the data sharing boxes ticked off, then no - when that is the case the labs tab in settings should be disabled. Earlier this week I looked for ways to trigger any kind of onboarding to the feature without ticking the labs setting checkbox or going into about:config and did not find a way to do so (at least on Linux)

@mcc what sucks about this dynamic is that they only need to violate user consent once for every subsequent decision they do present the user becomes at the very least ambiguously suspect. trust is fragile and they blew through it with a large % of their users for no real benefit.
