@julianJulian Fietkau @silverpill yep exactly. I have never seen a fedi thing do even rough members only groups like there are in Facebook. I think more importantly then private ones are publicly viewable and sharable but not publicly participatable

@liaizonwakest ⁂ FOSDEM @silverpill I think @Bonfire's groups proposal (https://bonfirenetworks.org/posts/why-community-matters-groups-as-the-next-step-for-the-fediverse/) covers the topic pretty thoroughly. Not sure if they've already done any spec work, but if anyone is building something like this I'd recommend coordinating with them.
