I appreciate the bluntness and I think it serves as a good synthesis of where the topic stands. At the same time, I think it's just kinda... misguided? Pointless even. Makes me feel like the discussion is one of intention, of goals, but it keeps being posited as one of assessment or accuracy. The AI-happy argument seems to lean heavily on usefulness as an inherent virtue, when the AI-skeptic argument is actually not really aiming for usefulness to begin with. As if it were simply about the ends, and the ends are finding the most productive and most overpowering... anything.
