Evening on the banks of the Danube

Regensburg is the center of the Upper Palatinate and lies at the northernmost point of the Danube. Its Roman origins and almost completely preserved medieval old town with the Stone Bridge (in the background on the right) and St. Peter's Cathedral (illuminated on the left) make Regensburg a popular tourist destination. Since 2006, Regensburg's old town and the district of Stadtamhof have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The ships moored in front of the cathedral on the riverbank belong to the Danube Shipping Museum in Regensburg. It shows the development of shipping on the Danube and other rivers, the associated technology, and the everyday working life of inland waterway transport operators. Six image files were combined to create this HDR panorama. Regensburg ist das Zentrum der Oberpfalz und liegt am nördlichsten Punkt der Donau. Der römische Ursprung und die fast vollständig erhaltene mittelalterliche Altstadt mit der Steinerne Brücke (im Hintergrund rechts) und dem Dom St. Peter (angestrahlt links) machen Regensburg zu einem vielbesuchten Reiseziel. Seit 2006 gehören die Regensburger Altstadt und der Stadtteil Stadtamhof zum UNESCO-Welterbe. Die vor dem Dom am Ufer liegenden Schiffe gehören zum Donau-Schiffahrts-Museum Regensburg. Es zeigt die Entwicklung der Donauschifffahrt und anderen Flüssen, die dazugehörige Technik und den Arbeitsalltag der Binnenschiffer. Für dieses HDR-Panorama wurden sechs Bilddateien kombiniert.
