Moim.live Release Note (v0.2.0)

Jaeyeol Lee @kodingwarrior@hackers.pub

Moim.live is a fediverse-friendly event hosting and location-based check-in SNS. While v0.1.0 was designed to simply demonstrate what we aimed to build, v0.2.0 has been developed with more focus on meeting the needs of event organizers.

New Features

Event Management Dashboard

Event organizer dashboard

For events created under a group, we now provide a dashboard where you can manage participant status and event state in one place. Essential tasks for organizers—such as checking the list of registration requests and changing event status—can all be handled from a single dashboard.

Place Management

Connecting Venue Managers Updating Place Information
Connecting managers Updating places

Previously, place information had restricted edit permissions, making it difficult to update information directly even when changes occurred. In this update, we've made it possible to grant editing permissions for specific places to managers responsible for venue rentals. Since managers can now keep place information up to date themselves, event organizers can always rely on accurate place information when creating events.

If you are a manager responsible for venue rentals, we can grant you permissions to register and manage place information. Please contact @kodingwarrior@hackers.pub for inquiries.

Calendar View Support

Calendar Upcoming Event
Calendar view Upcoming

You can now view upcoming events hosted by a group in calendar format on the group page. On place pages managed by groups, you can also view scheduled events at that venue in calendar format, making it easy to quickly check for scheduling conflicts.

Engagement Analysis from the Fediverse

Engagement analysis

Events created on moim.live are automatically propagated to ActivityPub-supporting SNS platforms (Mastodon, Misskey, etc.). In this update, we've made it possible for organizers to directly track the engagement generated during this process.

The metrics available on the dashboard include:

  • Shares (Boost/Renote) — How widely the event information has spread across the fediverse
  • Likes (Favourite) — How many people are showing interest
  • Comments (Reply) — Reactions and inquiries about the event

Through these metrics, organizers can get a sense of how effective their promotional efforts are and use this information as a reference when planning promotion strategies for future events.

RSS Feed Support for Groups

You can now subscribe to group event updates directly in your RSS reader. For example, you can subscribe to Hackers' Pub updates at:

If you use an RSS reader, you can register feeds from groups you're interested in to be notified immediately when new events are posted.

Upcoming Updates

While this release focused on management tools for event organizers, the next release will focus on the participant experience. We plan to prioritize work on RSVP (response) and on-site check-in features.

For detailed changes, please refer to the GitHub release page. Thank you.
