every now and then i run a benchmark and get sad at the fediverse's allergy to progress

a benchmark of HTTP signature creation, comparing a RSA-based implementation with a ed25519-based implementation. the RSA implementation takes 443 microseconds to run whereas ed25519 only takes 30.
