From time to time I see some post highlighting the importance of having good image descriptions. But something I didn't see yet is the importance of picking good shortcodes for the custom emojis. Standard emojis have their own unicode, so there is a way for a text reader to know what that emoji is. But for custom emojis, I can only imagine using either the shortcode or some sort of hashing function to determine what the image is.
