Last year Anthropic’s CEO said that by the end of 2025 AI would be able to write 100% of code. I doubted that timeline all year and then it came true—from my perspective and others’ that I respect—overnight in November. But, at least there is a lot to do around the edges.

He is now saying that AI will be able to do full end-to-end software engineering, encompassing all of those other tasks, within 6-12 months.
