I don't know what possessed me to try OpenSolaris again, but here I am, running 2009.06 in a VM!

Only thing is, the repos for software for this release have long been turned off, and the compiler tools are not included on the CD by default. If I can get the compiler tools, I can at least add pkgsrc to get software that way, but also my Solaris skills are not as sharp as they were.

Does anyone know if another repo exists for software for Solaris? And also a source for the compilers.

The default GNOME desktop environment in OpenSolaris 2009.06; the OpenSolaris logo, a collection of green, blue, and grey bubbles, is in the corner of the wallpaper.
