People losing grip of code bases and architecture because of #ai taking care of many low levels details is not really new. A lot of us faced that struggle while transitioning from technical to managerial roles.
In my case, I recall trying to keep in touch with the code base that's being changed every few hours by my team, trying to assert control and fail at it, trying to control changes directionally by putting in good practices etc. But in the end you learn to embrace your new role since that's where you have the most impact.
I guess now this choice of moving from technical to managerial track is forced, which is causing a whole new set of people to get disenchanted.
