@lorenzosmusicLorenzo's Music It wasn't a good example. But right now we RENT all of our digital content. If you get your music on Apple, they can remove it. You don't own your music right?
Owncast, Peertube, etc, give us the opportunity to redefine this. You as a musician you can say you can go listen to my song on Spotify (people listen to ads or pay for Spotify Premium). OR if you have a good following they could get a premium feature from you. You pay $5 directly and you get music to download, you can watch without ads on our peertube, you can get access to livestreams with the creator, etc.
Instead of completely usurping in place tech, why not use our tech as a "premium" experience that the creator themselves control. And oh yeah, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. What creative wouldn't want their own control? They don't want the hassle of setting it all up, they still need discoverability, but this is YOUR platform with YOUR data.
I'm trying to figure this out anyway I can. :-D Maybe it's a pipe dream, but I just spoke with
@JenJenJenJen
about something like this. She already kind of does this. She uses Twitch to find like minded folks and then most of her business is through her website. That tells me there's an opportunity for us to wedge in there.
