is about building communities that distribute tasks on a eye-to-eye level.

communities don't need to be self-sufficient, medieval, agricultural, backwater villages. But one of the main questions in solarpunk is: What can a community achieve without the need for a highly specialized, expert driven economy?

Cars and advanced electronics are a gray area. The hyperscaler computer infrastructure needed for is definitely out of bounds.

@alexanderondu I absolutely love the vibes of solarpunk, but there is no such thing as any sort of electronics (or even much in the way of metal forging!) if the criteria is “tasks distributed on an eye-to-eye level”. The most basic village blacksmith of 1,000 years ago relied on a network of supply sourcing from hundreds of miles away, and even the most basic electronics of the early 1900s relied on continent-spanning supply chains.
