Took the Brompton on a 100km/ 2200hm loop through the Peak District yesterday. With lots of offroad riding, combining bits of two bikepacking.com routes.
Much to the delight of the local mountainbikers, who shouted at me "that's the most mental thing I have ever seen anyone do on this trail", when overtaking me on their full suspension bikes πŸ˜….

This is the first time I took my new Brompton G Line onto a big day like this and I have to say it did very well. The tires that Schwalbe designed for it were the highlight - they are surprisingly capable as long as it does not get too wet. Geometry is actually very fun, sort of like a mellow BMX. You would not want to descend rough offroad stuff for very long, it really gets into your hands, but it was ok for smaller hills like they have here in the UK πŸ˜‰.

The Peak District was a lovely place, not too wild, but with lots of variety and quiet places. The main roads were a bit uncomfortable, but you can stay off them, if you do not mind climbing these punchy hills.
I loved being out in the hills, in wind and weather for a full day - especially with all the @alpacaAlgorithmic Pattern conference presentations of the day before to process.
