Threads is the most unhinged social network. Meta pulls people out of their Facebook sewers into a spot they never would have been.

My main Threads stream is 50% friends posting updates about their life, 50% tradwife flatearthers telling me grocery store food is poison. It’s WILD.

back in 2023 when Threads launched, a friend working there said Zuck pushed everyone to create a mastodon-compatible twitter clone so they could pitch it as an open source API to distract the US govt from breaking Meta up, which ultimately worked
