Programmers: Test what happens if one of your users makes a file above four gigabytes. No, I don't care what your application does. No, I don't care if you think that's likely or makes sense. Test it. If you ship both 32-bit and 64-bit executables, test it on both.

maybe finally reached the breaking point in moving as many remaining groups and convos from Threema to Signal: I have to swap out my phone due to a failing display, and while Signal imports its 6GB data backup without a hitch, Threema just … dies at 3GB, probably due to lack of memory. Which is just … astounding. And bad. And I'll have to delete some data, which, wtf.
