ネコの死因1位ともされる腎臓系の病に侵されたネコのための新薬の実用化が近づいている。治験はすでに終了、4月には国に承認申請する計画で、研究開発を進める「AIM医学研究所」（略称IAM、東京都）の宮崎徹所長（免疫学）は「臨床研究とほぼ同じ効果が得られた。できる限り早く実装したい」と意気込む。
