Anyway, this was brought on by the fact that we regularly roust homeless people out of their tents in public parks, which includes taking all their stuff from them, throwing it all away with no due process at all and without giving them anywhere else they can go, but parking permits for cars cost 75 cents a day.
Which is another way of saying, if you have car, you can turn a public space into a private space for pennies a day. If you have a tent, that's illegal, the police are going to take all your shit and you have no recourse.
And people complain that traffic is bad and we have a homelessness problem, and people get extremely angry when you say that we're subsidizing the traffic problem at the expense of the homelessness problem.
