I am always and forever trying to figure out why so many medieval war movies can be charitably described as "a bit crap" It doesn't have to be this way! Medieval history is full of potential Outlaw King caliber war movies! (at LEAST! Outlaw King is rough in some spots, so there's definitely room for improvement! But having it as an example of a GOOD medieval war movie helps me articulate why so many of them are just shit awful!) The reasons are neverending, but here are a few major ones.
