With mastodon's new Wrapstodon thing rolling out on their own instance, I went hunting on how to generate these reports.

The UI of this is serious weird and out of sync with the rest of Mastodon though....

As this post is getting a lot of traffic since yesterday I've updated it with the latest information as far as I'm aware.

TL;DR: If you are running a server on 4.4.x or 4.5.x you should be able use these steps to generate wrapstodon.

If you are on nightly you need to enable a feature flag.

In 2025 Mastodon reworked the Wrapstodon feature, and it now works differently, at least if you are on nightly (the full release of this feature is apparently planned for 4.6 in 2026).
