Then I started using #Mastodon on a daily basis. It was (and still is) slower, and the lack of algorithm does mean I have to proactively follow more people and search a bit for content.
But the most difficult thing was changing my own behaviour! I still find myself expecting to be submerged in a caustic environment, faced with abrasive comments, hidden #aggression, overt #aggression, and overall violent attitudes... And I am - still! - always ready to jump the gun and deliver correspondingly! Sometimes - preemptively. Which means that sometimes it's me who casts the first stone.
I *am* changing, but I can still feel it lurking...
