some advice I've given people who have trouble with this that's worked in numerous cases?
when you're coming up to bedtime, take a moment to sit and intentionally ask yourself, "what do I need before I can sleep?"
it may be something trivial, like a glass of water; it may be something like checking that the door's locked, maybe something like needing to close some browser tabs, could be any number of things.
doing that thing, in my (and other peoples') experience makes it -much- easier to actually sleep, and tends to make sleep more restful.
